Our minds were built to guide us in thinking and dealing with processes of life. But it can be painful to use them positively especially when it requires us to change how we think in general. As a result, it prompts a lot of people to be mindless as that mitigates the pain.

Mindlessness reigns due to our instinctual need to escape dangerous or painful things. The brain was designed especially for this.

Judging by the recent turn out of events: inflation, rise in crime rate, lack of safety, capitalism, and whatnot, it’s no wonder people prefer to rest in the not-so) sublime state of mindlessness to escape these harsh realities.

Why?

Mindlessness occurs when we want to pay less attention to activities or things that we need to go by as fast as can. This explains why a lot of people remain stuck for a very long time doing the same thing.

Mindlessness reigns as we believe it’s the best way to escape reality. The types of situations which appear unpleasant — because being aware of them can be a hard pill to swallow or deal with.

“Mindlessness thrives where irresponsibility dwells”

It’s assumed that mindlessness aids one in their capacity not to take accountability for their actions because what wrong could or have, they possibly done? They’re unaware.

Mindlessness becomes the order of the day when ingratitude shines. Being unappreciative of life both good and bad depicts mindlessness to what is going on around you. The life you have. The air you breathe. The complete body parts you have. Some extra life privileges as well…

Mindlessness is easier to exercise than mindfulness. It aids a lot of comfort in many sectors of our lives. But conscious living surpasses these fickle comforts and goodies and brings forth both change with their good and bad sides. But at least embracing the latter shows we’re truly living. As the true essence of living is to experience life itself. And life is purely full of ups and downs.

Thanks for taking the time to read.
