The SuperHero Syndrome

You can’t fix everything

There are hijackers of other people’s problems who invite disarray into their lives unknowingly. Such people could be called altruistic by a layperson. If you ask me, I’d call it the superhero syndrome.

The superhero syndrome is a word I concocted for those like me who believe they can interfere in or solve others’ problems. This cross, in the form of rendering help, can be off-putting as rewarding as it may feel. Simply because you can’t fix everything.

Not all superheroes indeed appear in their capes. But even the normal-looking ones need to be patient with swinging in for others when in “danger”. Something that poses a danger might not necessarily be dangerous.

The superhero syndrome collates habits like restlessness, overthinking, over feeling for others, helping when it’s uncalled for, and overinvolvement.

It’s noteworthy, however, that not everything can be fixed no matter how much we try. Some things are out of our control if we would agree. Such as the way people see or treat us, the way others act, and the revolutionary state of the universe. All uncontrollable. As such, it’s rational if we could give ourselves a break from acting like superheroes — in order not to weigh down our spirits from their lack of accomplishment. As some things cannot be fixed no matter how hard we try.

Thanks for taking the time to read.
