Emotional intelligence springs from the knowledge of one’s emotions or emotional meter. Intelligence is the act of using the knowledge we have, and applying it for better outcomes. No wonder emotional intelligence entails using the knowledge about what we know our emotions are to navigate life.

However, it is not an easy feat for one. Being emotionally intelligent requires a lot from us and sometimes others, to comprehend.

Emotions are natural feelings we get from time to time. They can be classified as positive or negative, difficult or easy, and simple or complicated. Knowing the kind of person we are gives us the master key to unlocking what category of feelings we have and labeling them an emotion. This means that emotional intelligence not only needs you to acknowledge your feelings/ emotions but also label them. Afterward, emotionally intelligent people use the information they’ve garnered from repeatedly testing their selves to understand what each emotion makes them do or forces them to do. This is vital in our self-management journey, as our emotions are there to guide our everyday living. Most unintelligent folks, on the other hand, do not see their emotions for what they are, they refuse to observe what the message’s passing across, thus, diving their head-first into events that will eventually bring them trouble.

Emotional intelligence is a way to apply the intelligence you have of your knowledge about your emotions and apply it, not only to yourself but to the others around you. Emotions arise innately because we are humans, therefore the tests and trusts that come from them have to equally be external to many extents. People are always going to bring out the best or worst of those emotions. It’s up to you how you choose to navigate those sets of feelings to maintain your decorum. Hence, it means that emotional intelligence and its application deal inherently with how dignified, developed, and adaptable we choose to become. It is thinking of this end goal, or goals, as the case may be, that determines truly how you comport yourself devoid of what the emotional meter is reading. This explains why emotional intelligence has a lot more to do with comportment versus just learning about your emotions but doing absolutely nothing about the information.

Thanks for taking the time to read
