Hi Thomas Oppong ruminating has been the major issue with me for a long time now which I never realised until lately. I came to this realisation when I ascertained what situation forces me to ruminate and I came to the conclusion that it’s being too comfortable.

Because I’m a perfectionist, it causes me to have time to ruminate over past ugly events and see how I can mentally amend it which is very impossible and hence, has been leaving me stuck in a rut for a while now.

Now, I catch my thoughts drifting to the past and worrying about the future and I force myself to return back to my senses like you rightfully suggested. I have now decided to let the past be so and only plan for the future rather than worry while savoring the present.

Thank you for such confirmatory article of what the right thing is to do to alleviate anxiety and stress.
