Change
A proof of change is often regarded as a huge feat. We believe that if something bad happens and we want to prove our newly found wisdom, then something huge has to happen. But this is not always the case. Sometimes all you need to see or notice in yourself is a shift, a slight change to how you now operate compared to before. It could be as short as a few hours prior, or as long as years before. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for a change to occur, for the wisdom you’ve gained to take effect, what matters is change has been effected.
It’s essential to know this because we tend to be hard on ourselves and assume there’s been no change and thus growth in our lives when we don’t see those “big” things play out the way we anticipated change.
Change can be as subtle as being more aware, hence, mentally.
It can be as mild as acknowledging the truth of a matter at a said time.
It can be a slight change in your behavior, either by how you receive or apply knowledge.
In that instance, when the tea from the advice you’ve received, for example, sinks in, then changes abound. You have to reed yourself of any expectations about how big or small you want those changes to be and allow yourself to grow and thus, glow. This is what self-improvement and personal growth in general are all about.
